Customization
Make WebOS your own — themes, wallpapers, accent colors, dock and taskbar layout, visual effects, plugins, and more.
#Desktop Settings app
All customization options are managed through the Desktop Settings app. Open it from the dock, the App Launcher, or by right-clicking the desktop background and selecting Desktop Settings.
#Themes
Choose from four built-in themes:
- Dark — a dark color scheme for low-light environments
- Light — a bright, clean theme
- Mac Light — a macOS-inspired light theme with subtle differences
- Delegate Brand — the official Delegate brand colors
#Wallpapers
Pick from 10 built-in wallpapers:
- Delegate, Delegate Ember, Black, Aurora, Ocean, Midnight, Nebula, Forest, Ember, and Slate
You can also set a custom wallpaper by entering any image URL.
#Accent colors
The accent color affects buttons, highlights, active indicators, and interactive elements throughout the desktop. Choose from 10 options:
- Blue, Delegate Orange, Indigo, Cyan, Emerald, Amber, Rose, Purple, Orange, and White
#Dock settings
Configure the dock's appearance and behavior:
- Show/hide — toggle the dock on or off
- Position — bottom, left, top, or right
- Size — small, medium, or large icons
- Magnification — toggle the hover magnification effect
#Taskbar settings
Configure the taskbar independently of the dock:
- Show/hide — toggle the taskbar on or off
- Position — bottom, top, left, or right
#Desktop icons
Customize the app shortcuts that appear on the desktop surface:
- Show/hide — toggle desktop icons on or off
- Choose apps — select which apps appear as desktop shortcuts
- Icon size — small, medium, or large
- Layout — arrange icons in a grid or a vertical column
#Window appearance
Fine-tune how windows look:
- Window opacity — adjust the frosted glass transparency from fully opaque to semi-transparent
- Font size — choose small, default, or large text across the desktop
#Overlay toolbar
The overlay toolbar is a floating utility bar for quick actions. Configure its position on the left, right, top, or bottom of the screen. Set the toolbar state to static (always visible) or hidden (auto-hides when not in use).
#Visual effects
Toggle optional visual enhancements:
- Grid overlay — display a subtle grid pattern on the desktop background
- Particle effects — enable animated particle effects on the desktop
#Clock
Customize the system tray clock:
- Format — automatic (based on your locale), 12-hour, or 24-hour
- Show seconds — toggle the seconds display on or off
#Notifications
Control how desktop notifications behave:
- Notification delay — set a delay (in seconds) before alerts appear on screen
- Event types — choose which events trigger desktop notifications
#Organizer groups
Create folders to group related apps together. Each organizer group has a custom name, icon, and color. Drag apps into groups to keep your dock and launcher organized.
#Plugins
Extend WebOS with plugins via the Plugin Manager app. Browse available plugins, install or remove them, and customize plugin appearance with icon overrides — set a custom name, change the icon, or hide a plugin from the launcher entirely.
